Out on another tour of an amazing local startup, GlassyBaby in the Madrona neighborhood in Seattle, WA. If you haven’t heard of them, you should look them up. They are a high end, beautiful, glass tea light candles. Originally created as small gifts for friends, GlassyBaby has quickly grown to a large studio.

We met with Elisabeth Severson, to get a tour of the GlassyBaby factory and learn the history behind GlassBaby. It is inspiring to see a company be as successful as GlassBaby, that is motivated by giving and supporting others.

10% from the sale of every glassybaby goes directly to organizations that support people in all kinds of need.

The process of making one GlassyBaby is a well choreographed event where a team of dedicated glass blowers work together. They seemingly effortlessly pass a GlassyBaby in progress from one team member to another. Taking a lump of glass and transforming it into the popular GlassyBaby shape. Each one lovingly colored, blown, shaped, and finished.

Makes me want to take a glass blowing class!
